That seems way too high, right? Well, here's why it costs that much: Setting up the sandblaster can take 15 minutes to half an hour, shutting it down can take another 15 minutes to half an hour. The part itself may only take 5 minutes, but taking proper care of the sandblasting equipment means properly setting it up and shutting it down. So your 5 minute sandblasting job will cost up to an hour and ten minutes to the sandblasting pro, plus any consumables. 

How can that cost be reduced? If you don't need the part right away, many times having the job wait until another sandblasting project is running, can greatly reduce the costs of having your 5 minute item blasted.
